Coaching the Details

Coach Jose learned the game in Argentina and Brazil. FSA brings that same attention to first touch, body position, timing, and decision-making to players in Aledo and Weatherford.

The Training Process

How a Session Works

Every session follows the same three steps: learn the detail, work with feedback, then use it in a game situation.

Coach explaining a movement to a player one on one

Learn the Detail

We break down the specifics: first touch, body position, and where to look before the ball arrives.

Player striking the ball during a drill

Work With Feedback

Players repeat the movement while the coach corrects timing, technique, and positioning on the spot.

Players in a small-sided game

Use It Under Pressure

The skill is tested in game situations, where players decide when to use it, communicate, and respond to mistakes.

"The goal is not only to complete the drill. It is to understand when to use it."

Technique, timing, and decision-making, worked on together in every session.

Seasonal Training

Our Story

About FSA

Academy History & Mission

Built on a Love for the Game

Coach Jose started Futebol Soccer Academy to teach players in Weatherford and Aledo the way he learned the game in Argentina and Brazil: close attention to first touch, body position, timing, and reading the game.

Training is built around the details that show up in matches. Players work on receiving with a plan, deciding when to dribble and when to pass, and keeping the ball under pressure. Every drill connects to a game situation.

We coach with feedback in the moment, correcting technique and positioning as players work, so they understand not just what to do, but when to do it.

Whether a player is just starting or preparing for a higher level, the goal is the same: cleaner technique, better decisions, and the confidence to keep playing after a mistake.

The Philosophy

How We Train

Our methodology is shaped by the soccer environments Coach Jose experienced in Argentina and Brazil, where technique, creativity, competitiveness, and game understanding are developed together.

Technical Foundation First

Every great player begins with clean technique. Our training prioritizes ball control, first touch, passing quality, and the technical habits required to compete at higher levels.

Game Intelligence

Players learn to read the game, understanding positioning, timing, and decision-making in real situations. We train players to think quickly and play simple, effective soccer.

Position-Specific Development

Every position requires different qualities. Our sessions help players understand their role on the field, improving movements, decisions, and responsibilities specific to their position.

Competitive Environment

Training is designed to challenge players. We create a competitive environment where players learn to perform under pressure, develop confidence, and push their level every session.

Long-Term Development

Our focus is not short-term results, but building complete players over time. Every training decision is made with the player's long-term competitive growth in mind.

Discipline & Love for the Game

Great players combine discipline with passion. At FSA, we build players who respect the process, enjoy the work, and develop a lasting love for the beautiful game.

The Story Behind FSA

Meet the Coach

Coach Jose Arvelaiz
Founder & Head Coach

Jose Arvelaiz

Soccer has been part of Jose's life since childhood. His journey took him through Argentina and Brazil, where he experienced different ways of teaching, competing, and understanding the game.

He created Futebol Soccer Academy to give young players more than drills. His goal is to help each player understand what they are doing, grow in confidence, and develop the discipline and courage to use their ability in real games.

Jose believes players develop best when they feel supported enough to make mistakes and challenged enough to keep improving.

“Ser entrenable es la mayor virtud de un deportista”
“Being coachable is the greatest virtue of an athlete.”

Player Progress

What Progress Means

What Progress
Looks Like

We’re a young academy, and we’re honest about that. We don’t sell guarantees or shortcuts. Progress shows up in small, specific ways: a cleaner first touch, looking up before receiving, knowing when to dribble and when to pass, and recovering faster after a mistake.

01
On the BallA cleaner first touch, better control, and looking up before receiving.
02
Decision-MakingKnowing when to dribble, when to pass, and reading the game situation.
03
Responding to MistakesRecovering faster after an error and communicating with teammates.

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

What is Futebol Soccer Academy?

Futebol Soccer Academy (FSA) is a youth soccer training organization based in Weatherford and Aledo, Texas. We specialize in developing players ages 7–18 using a South American soccer philosophy, focused on technical excellence, creativity, and a love for the game.

What ages do you work with?

We train players between the ages of 7 and 18. All programs, including private training, small group sessions, camps, and clinics, are tailored to the specific age group and experience level of each player.

What is "South American Soccer Philosophy"?

South American soccer, particularly the Brazilian and Argentine styles, places heavy emphasis on ball mastery, individual creativity, technical skill, and expressive play. This philosophy develops players who are comfortable on the ball in any situation, think creatively, and love the game.

Do players need prior experience to join?

Not at all. FSA welcomes players of all experience levels, from complete beginners to experienced club players preparing for elite competition. Our coaches adapt every session to meet the player where they are.

Where are your locations?

We operate out of two locations in Parker County, Texas: Weatherford and Aledo. Specific training locations and field details are provided upon registration. Contact us to find out which location works best for you.

Training Questions

What's the difference between private and small group training?

Private training is a 1-on-1 session between your player and a coach, for maximum focus and personalization. Small group training lets your player train alongside others in a competitive, small-group environment, offering combination play and team chemistry. Both are excellent options depending on your player's goals.

How long are training sessions?

One-on-One, Group Training, and Development Program sessions are currently 60 minutes. Check the Training page for the exact details on any other program.

How often should my child train?

This depends on the player's age, goals, and current schedule. We typically recommend 1–2 sessions per week for younger players and up to 3 sessions per week for older or more competitive players. Our coaches will discuss a recommended frequency when you get started.

What should my child bring to training?

Players should come with: cleats or turf shoes, shin guards, a ball (size appropriate for age), water bottle, and athletic clothing. All training equipment and cones are provided by FSA.

Can I form my own small group with friends or teammates?

Yes! In fact, we encourage it. Small group sessions can be formed with friends, teammates, or players at a similar level. Just reach out with your group and we'll set it up.

Camps & Clinics Questions

What is included in a camp registration?

Camp registration includes all coaching, equipment, and structured programming for the duration of the camp. Players receive a certificate of completion for full-week camps. Contact us for details on each specific camp's inclusions.

How do I register for a camp?

Create your FSA account and confirm your email, then complete your player's profile on the site — that lets us know which camp or clinic you're interested in. We'll follow up with confirmation, payment details, and everything you need to prepare.

Can beginners attend the camps?

For most camps, yes. Players are grouped by age and ability so every participant is appropriately challenged and supported. Some camps are geared toward more competitive players, while others welcome all experience levels. We'll always help you find the right fit.

What is the cancellation policy for camps?

Please contact us directly regarding our cancellation and refund policy, as it may vary by camp. We do our best to accommodate all situations and will work with families to find a fair solution when plans change.
